The XMetaL family, consisting of six applications, is the world's most flexible, user-friendly XML content creation and collaboration solution. XMetaL Author, XMetaL Author DITA Edition, XMAX - XMetaL for ActiveX, and XMetaL Reviewer, four of the products in the suite, provide web specialists, technical communicators, and general business users with tools for efficiently creating and reviewing XML content. The XMetaL product family has improved time-to-market, compliance, quality and customer satisfaction for a wide array of industries and applications.

Based on our natural language processing technology, this software was designed for corporations in collaboration with Dr. David Evance*, then a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. It enables sophisticated crossover search based on spoken language for text data on intranet, groupware and data warehouse (DWH). ConceptBase has been introduced by more than 2,400 leading Japanese corporations, as a software which promotes corporate in-house knowledge management. In recent years, focus has also been placed on its related solution software, using case examples applied by users such as FAQ, consolidated as a product.

ATOK

The system provides a correct Japanese input function under the kana-kanji mixed environment. In addition to Ichitaro, ATOK is installed in a majority of Japanese representative newspapers and has been established as the standard. Making good use of our natural language processing technology, the system provides syntactic and semantic analysis which realizes homophony processing through the use of context, a function to indicate errors or misuse on a word basis, and the associative conversion to kanji to realize time-saving input. Further, a support system for advanced technical document creation has been introduced, linked to external technical terminology dictionaries including medical, legal and governmental. A LAN-based distribution service of the latest common dictionaries has been enhanced and is used by a number of corporations to improve customer service through their in-house language control. ATOK is also installed in mobile phones, car navigation systems and game software via major Japanese electronics manufacturers.
